potential
The potential of modern timber buildings
The construction industry causes up to 40 % of global carbon emissions. Timber is the most efficient building material for carbon removal. It locks the carbon captured in the forest into the load-bearing structure and replaces emission-intensive materials such as concrete and steel. Yet only around 1 % of the world's urban, multi-storey buildings use biobased materials such as timber. Unlocking this potential needs new incentives and instruments.
“If we build our cities out of wood instead of concrete, we will be spared the worst.”
Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, climate scientist (founder of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research), F.A.Z. (2021)

What we do
The digital ecosystem for carbon removal in buildings
We calculate a building's carbon potential and make it tradable and accountable as Timber Carbon Credits. Ours is the first digital MRV for biobased construction that runs end to end, measuring, reporting and verifying from the design phase to the dashboard, under internationally recognised standards.
Our technologyTurn buildings into carbon assets
Whether you build or buy

For building owners & developers
Build with timber: we certify your building's climate performance and turn it into a tradable carbon asset. You decide whether to count it toward your own climate performance (insetting) or to sell it.

For carbon buyers
Offset emissions with verified carbon removals from real buildings. Visible, verifiable, valuable.
Process
Six steps to a Timber Carbon Credit
From project intake to selling the credits, every building project goes through six clearly defined steps, fully handled digitally and under internationally recognised standards.
01
Project registration
onboarding the building project into the certification process.
02
Data capture & documentation
gathering all construction and material data, including due-diligence review.
03
Carbon quantification
conservative calculation of net removal against the baseline ("mineral twin"), including additionality.
04
Independent verification
third-party review by an accredited verification body (VVB) after completion.
05
Credit issuance
ex-post issuance of the removal credits in the registry; tradable and traceable.
06
Carbon removal management & sale
ongoing management of the removed carbon through the platform.
