The flat-pack skyscraper: how wood can shape the cities of the future
At 84 metres, Mjøstårnet in Norway is the world's tallest all-timber building, assembled from precision-cut glulam like flat-pack furniture at almost a floor per week. The forest-to-building pump: how construction becomes a carbon sink
In a new-year interview with Tages-Anzeiger, climate scientist Hans Joachim Schellnhuber describes what he calls the forest-to-building pump: fast-growing trees and grasses capture carbon that the construction sector then locks into structural timber and furniture for the long term.
