Carbon in a load-bearing structure: an argument, rarely a figure
The French market agrees that the timber in a load-bearing structure holds carbon. Showing it project by project, with data fine enough for an accredited body to verify, is still the exception. That gap is the reason we are in Paris.
What we bring to the conversation
Timber Carbon has been the leading Swiss carbon developer for the real estate sector since 2021. We quantify the carbon a timber building locks into its load-bearing structure, have the removal verified under internationally recognised standards and issue Timber Carbon Credits for it. You decide whether to count the credits towards your own climate performance or sell them. Either way, the climate performance of the building becomes a tradable asset: an additional revenue stream across the life cycle that feeds into your business case and, in a close decision, can tip a project towards timber.
