About the project
Baumberger, a third-generation family timber-construction business founded in 1949, is consolidating its future at Biberiststrasse in Gerlafingen, Solothurn, with a new production hall and company headquarters — built, naturally, by its own craftsmen in wood.
The four-storey building uses timber from Swiss and European forests and continues a company tradition of practical sustainability: the firm has been a Minergie specialist partner since 2007 and heats its operations with wood chips.
A timber builder erecting its own workplace in timber is the trade's most honest reference project — regional craftsmanship that keeps carbon locked in the structure for decades, certified under the Rainbow Standard.
