About the project

Landzinshaus Klagenfurt brings affordable, sustainably built rental housing to Carinthia's capital: 44 apartments in two three-storey buildings in the green St. Peter district, developed under a concept dedicated to attainable rents in growing regions.

The buildings use a modular timber construction kit — a standardised, demountable system with a high proportion of Austrian wood that shortens construction time, keeps the site quiet and clean, and allows future disassembly and reuse. Locally generated renewable energy is delivered as a service.

First tenants moved in during summer 2026. The project shows that affordability and climate-conscious construction reinforce each other — modular timber housing as a long-term carbon sink, certified under the Rainbow Standard.
