About the project

This residential tower rises at the heart of the Papieri site in Cham — a paper-mill grounds with industrial history reaching back to 1657, now transformed into a mixed neighbourhood. The building offers 61 condominiums and an integrated childcare centre.

Its hybrid structure puts each material where it performs best: twin glulam beams and timber-concrete composite floors carry the loads in wood, combined with low-cement recycled concrete. The site's own river power plant covers around half the quarter's energy demand locally.

Completed in 2024 and designed along 2000-watt-society principles, the tower shows high-density housing on transformed industrial land as a long-term carbon sink, certified under the Rainbow Standard.
