About the project

ROCKYWOOD pairs two office buildings on the transforming industrial harbour of Offenbach: ROCKY, a concrete loft building on the promenade, and WOOD — five storeys of prefabricated timber modules stacked on a concrete base in just eleven months.

Designed by Eike Becker Architekten for developer PRIMUS, the ensemble offers around 10,000 square metres of flexible workspace with open arcades and a raised public plaza. Under the WOODCYCLE concept, 1,500 saplings were planted to regrow the timber used.

Completed in 2024 and honoured at the Brownfield Award 2025 for sustainability, ROCKYWOOD turns former port industry land into workplaces that hold forest carbon in their walls.
