About the project

Timber Cross is a boutique residential project in Gelterkinden, Basel-Landschaft: a small three-storey apartment building marketed for its distinctive timber architecture and ecological living in the green.

Behind the project stands a local timber-construction group with its own regional prefabrication centre — the elements are cut and assembled from Swiss wood just minutes from the site, an unusually short route from forest to finished home.

Scheduled for completion in 2028, the building shows that carbon-storing construction is not reserved for flagship projects: even a village-scale infill can be built in wood, its stored forest carbon quantified and certified under the Rainbow Standard.
