About the project
Werk 4 is the next stage of the Blättler timber campus in Affeltrangen: a fourth production hall expanding the family firm's capacity for prefabricated timber elements, roof modules and complete room modules supplied throughout Switzerland.
Like its predecessors, the single-storey hall will be erected by the company's own crews in timber — a production building made of the very product it produces. It joins a site powered by wood-chip heating and one of the region's largest rooftop solar plants.
Planned for realisation from 2027, Werk 4 grows the industrial backbone of Swiss timber prefabrication — manufacturing capacity that is itself a carbon store, certified under the Rainbow Standard.
